Twin sister

When I was a kid, my fervent prayer was to be told I have a twin sister. Someone with whom my parents’ focus would turn to. Because my parents wanted me to be the perfect older sister. Always being harped on about my responsibility to be a role model to my younger siblings. Always being reminded to be this and that.
Now that I am all grown up, when I look back, I realize that the twin sister wish is just a way for me to escape from time to time. I knew what my responsibilities were. I never begrudged my parents for reminding me about it, for harping about it. It was for the better. I became a better person because of it.
And I will be forever thankful that I had parents who were concerned about me. Some kids are unlucky not to have them.
