A local soap opera is incorporating awareness on cancer in their storyline. Particularly on Mesothelioma. This is one form of cancer we don’t often hear but is actually there, affecting a lot of people who were once exposed to asbestos. It’s sad that it took years before it was figured out that asbestos is bad for us. The good thing is that there are available treatments for Mesothelioma.
Media is doing something good these days. Awareness is the name of the game. The more aware people are about a disease like Mesothelioma, then the more we can avoid it. The same goes for other types of cancer. Breast cancer is another one that gets a lot of focus from different sectors of society. And lung cancer. Illnesses that we can avoid if we knew more about it.
