Best friends

Do you have someone you call your best friend? I have more than one. I have four. Two guys and gals. All these four people have been my friends since school days. Three since second year high school, one since kindergarten.
Unfortunately, I don’t know if I can still call D my best friend. It really hurts when you feel violated by someone you call your friend. I have a handful left. Through the years, I lost one or two along the way. Not because I wanted to but for one reason or another, I had to. So those left I really treasure. Alas, D threw away almost two decades of friendship over a petty amount. Tsk tsk
The other one, L, I hardly see anymore. He’s already married and I quite busy with so many things going on in his life. This one I miss the most. We took up the same course in college and have been through so many things together. We’re both confidantes of each other. Sadly, although there was never any confirmation from him, I was told by someone close to him that his wife is jealous of me. Me?!?
Sigh.
I am lucky enough I still have my two best girl friends. I see them regularly. I bond with them from time to time. We are part of each others’ lives. And for that I am thankful. I am keeping my fingers crossed and praying that our friendship will last for the rest of our lives.
