I can relate with this all too well. I was struggling with what I wanted to do versus what I needed to do for years before I was finally able to do something that is both a need and a want.

That’s a very easy thing to say, especially for Condoleeza (whose ‘thing’ apparently was invading other countries and kissing George W. Bush’s ass).

Yikes at your first commenter. I tend to be a bit kinder when visiting others blogs. Their blog, their opinion. Just as my blog, my opinions and writing.
The quote stands, whatever your political views, as a good one. Period. Do find what makes you happy, and then, darnit all, do it well! I don’t feel that Ms. Rice meant ‘for a living’. Your passion can be a hobby too. Everyone needs something in their life that is a passion, and while not everyone is passionate about their work (which is sad, as it should be that way) I do feel that a happier more fulfilled person will have something like that in their life.
